Message It all began when my Non-Turbo started to make me feel like I was "sitting on a park bench"...

A few weeks ago I wrote a short post asking for feedback on two fellow members: La-Z-Link
For those of you who did not know the details of why I wrote that post, the reason was I was planning on traveling to Cincinnati to purchase a TT from fellow member Erik (username "eazyez") and was also planning on meeting his close friend Bill (member "ImTheDevil") who owned the car prior to selling it to Erik. Since Erik is boring and never took it out much (I kid, I kid :P), here are two pictures of it:

The reaction I received from the community here was astounding. Not only did these two guys get rave reviews from well-known members here, but I was also invited to participate in two CincyZ events over that weekend. Bill was even as kind as to invite me to stay in his house over the weekend.

So on Friday July 1st I finally flew to Cincinnati and was promptly picked up at the airport by Erik and Bill. We drove to Bills house where Erik had prepared the car on ramps and blocks so we could look over the car together from top to bottom. I am sure some of you have experienced transactions where the car you saw in person did not match up 100% to the pictures you had seen beforehand. This was not one of those cases. The car was exactly as Erik had described, and I could not have been happier with its condition. After a lengthy test drive with the car we parked it on the driveway and we all went out in his DD to transfer the title and acquire a temporary licence plate.

We then got back to the house, affixed the tag to the inside window, and went off to meet the CincyZ crew at a local cruise-in. As I drove in I was met at the entrance by Tim Davis (member "SilverTwin") who directed me to a parking spot inbetween his Z and Randy's (RAPTPZ). My first picture of the day was with my new Z in between two of my favourite Zs from this forum:

As I then walked past Randy's Z, I realized there were two other well known Zs at this meet, Brett Ramey (of Ramey'Z) and Chris (member "CMH (OH)"):

After finally seeing these Zs with my own eyes, I can honestly say that as great as they look in pictures, nothing compares to seeing them with your own two eyes. Here are some more pictures of the Zs:

Here are some photos of me with the Zs (can you tell how happy I was?):

From there we decided to go for dinner. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of the place, but I am sure one of the guys can chime in and remind me. Here are some photos driving there:

After dinner pictures:

From there a few of us went over to Brett's house:

Some of you may remember this picture from a number of years ago:

This was taken at Brett's place, and the three Zs on the bottom from left to right are my Z (owned by Bill at the time), Randy's first Z, and Tim's as well. I am unsure who the others belong to. Please enlighten me if you you know more.

Brett's garage is amazing. He showed us some Zs he is working on, as well as his Right-Hand-Drive-Converted convertible. I cannot wait to see the finished project! Before heading out for the night, we snapped one last photo:

Left to right: Me, Tim, Brett, Bill, Rich (member "boileralum")

That did not stop the festivities however, as we still had Cars & Coffee to attend first thing Saturday morning! We were four Zs including David (member "na300zx (OH)") who came by, as well as some other nice cars in attendance. First the Zs:

Be careful with your children around Chris, he can be a slave driver :)

Randy convinced me that cleaning the wheels after every drive is crucial. He got me straight to work and recommended some products to look into:

Finally, here are some photos of other cars:

Something you do not see everyday:

Something you really do not see everyday:

From what I was told, the blue Porsche is an original while the silver one is a replica:

Something a lot of us here would like:

And finally some others:

This little guy was super friendly:

After this meet Randy took us out to Don Pablos for lunch and some of the other guys came along too. We took one more picture after lunch:

After the meet we did some shopping near Bills house, and watched a movie in his awesome theatre room. Sunday we went to a baseball game at Great American Ballpark to watch the Reds beat the Indians 7-5. I had not been to an MLB game since 2004 when the Expos left Montreal, so it was a real nice treat.

We left Monday morning to make the drive back home. The process at the border took quite a while due to the export/import procedures, but at 2:30am, we were home, safe and sound:

In the 17 hours it took to drive home, the car did not give me one issue at all. I was beyond impressed with its reliability. It is obviously a lot more powerful than my Non-Turbo, so I am taking it easy on the boost. I still have to have the car inspected in order to register it, but I do not suspect any issues.

I need to give a very warm thank you to Bill for welcoming us into his house for the weekend. He and his wife were beyond generous in their hospitality and I hope to return the favour one day. You guys are welcome in Montreal any time! I would also like to thank Randy for setting up and inviting me to the CincyZ meets over the course of the weekend. It was great to finally get the chance to meet you in person.

Finally, I need to thank Erik for being one of the most honest and straight up people I have ever come across. You made purchasing this car a breeze and this transaction has really became more than just "business". We will be in touch for a long time to come, and I look forward to the next time we meet.

My profile has been updated as of today, and before anyone says anything, I do plan on swapping the HKS exhaust on it with the B&B I have on my Non-Turbo prior to me selling it (suck it Bill! :P). I am also considering swapping over the sound systems, but I am not sure if time and space will allow me the opportunity. I have also been informed that my new Z was included in the calender this year. If anyone has more information of this, please let me know. Also, if anyone has any other photos of my car from throughout the years, please forward them on to me as well.

Any questions? Now is the time :)
Thanks for reading!

Sig begins here:

ZEngineer: I just hope those exhaust tips aren't gonna give
me a hard
time going through the opening
Aqualung: Do you have a pic of your rear?
ZEngineer: Dude! That's just perverted!
Aqualung: Holy Sh*t! What did I just say???

BigTDogg(MA): That car earns the owner a TON of trophies at
shows I'm
sure. It'll also earn him one jab to the testicles if I ever meet
him in
person.

Kenny: I got more rhymes than Azheat's mouth got dongs

ZEngineer: If I ever wreck my car, and some jerkoff pulls that
overused
retarded joke on me, I'd release my frustration on him through
an
uppercut to the balls and say: "don't worry, a little bondo here
and there
and you balls will be like new again".
